Category A motorcycle license in Tallinn
Category A lets you ride a motorcycle of unlimited power. With me you take the category A upgrade course on the basis of a category B driving license: 10 hours of theory in Liikluslab e-learning and 10 riding lessons on the Laki 16 training ground and in real traffic. The motorcycle, the gear and the state exam slot at the Transport Administration are included in the price. Price 840 €, installments available.

Who it is for
With me, category A training is an upgrade course. By law, category A is open to anyone who holds a car driving license of any category (not a provisional license) or who has held a category A2 license for at least two years. There are 10 hours of theory and 10 riding lessons. If you have never ridden a motorcycle, we start from zero on the training ground – balance, clutch, slow riding – and move on from there into real traffic. If you do not have a driving license yet, your path is the initial training for category A2 or A1.

💡 Why don't we start riding lessons before the theory is done?
The answer is simple: I want to be honest with you. The goal for many driving schools is simply to make money, so they let students start riding right away when enthusiasm is high. The student finishes their riding hours quickly, but then the theory drags on for months.
What is the result? By the time the theory is finally passed, riding skills are forgotten, the feel for the bike is lost, and you are forced to buy expensive additional lessons. For category A, this is not cheap at all.
I do things differently and honestly:

Motorcycle and gear
Riding lessons and the state exam take place on the school's motorcycles: category A on a Kawasaki Z650 (50 kW, a lowered seat is available for shorter riders), category A2 on a Honda NC700 (35 kW, a comfortable bike that suits adult learners too) and category A1 on a Benelli BN 125 (8 kW, a friendly bike for beginners). The Transport Administration has no motorcycles of its own; you take the exam on the school's bike. All the gear you need – helmet, jacket, armor, gloves, boots and a high-visibility vest – is provided by the school when needed, both for lessons and for the exam; in the first lesson you get a balaclava as a gift. I also advise you on choosing your own gear and your first motorcycle.

One of the main sources of stress for a beginner is the months-long wait for the state exam, causing skills to fade. So you can focus entirely on learning and take your exam at peak form, I have pre-booked state exam dates for my students.

Useful to know
Do I need a category B license for category A?
Yes – or a category A2 license held for at least two years. The car license must not be a provisional license. Without a license you start with the initial training for category A2 or A1.
Does the instructor ride a motorcycle himself?
Yes, that is the credo of the Kindel Lenks motorcycle school: riding is taught by a rider. I ride every day in season and now and then in winter. In traffic, in 95% of lessons I follow you on a motorcycle too, not in a car, and talk to you through earphones. On the training ground, too, I don’t hesitate to get in the saddle myself. That way I see your line and posture and feel the same road as you do. In many schools the instructor follows the student in a car. When choosing a school, find out when your future instructor last rode a motorcycle: chances are, the answer will surprise you.
How long does the category A course take?
After passing the theory exam, it takes only 2–3 weeks from the start of the course to passing the state exam at the Transport Administration!
Do I ride the school's motorcycle at the state exam?
Yes. The motorcycle rental for the state exam is included in the price, as is the gear for lessons and the exam.
I have held an A2 license for two years. Do I have to go to a school?
No. With an A2 license held for at least two years you get category A with the Transport Administration driving test alone (from the age of 20). To get to know a more powerful bike and refresh your skills, you can take extra riding lessons with me at the list price.
Can I study theory entirely online?
Yes! I use Liikluslab. You can study anywhere, anytime – even on your phone.
Do I need to buy my own helmet and jacket right away?
No, all protective gear is included in the course. I’ll also help you choose your own gear later so you buy the right stuff.
Can I pay in installments?
Yes, you can pay in parts. I can also issue invoices to companies.
